Eclipse announces HIPs and SDLT developments

Case Management software provider, Eclipse Legal Systems, has announced the latest developments to its Proclaim Conveyancing system.

Proclaim Conveyancing is in use by thousands of UK practitioners in a wide range of firms – from high-street specialists through to major volume practices such as Goldsmith Williams and Barnetts. The latest developments to Proclaim involve those terms on everyone’s lips: HIPs and SDLT.

Home Information Packs – HIPs
Eclipse is taking a two-pronged approach to HIP creation to fulfill the requirements of all conveyancing practitioners.

For those wishing to create and market their own HIP, work is underway which will enable the creation and collation of all relevant literature, searches, etc to be carried out within the Proclaim case management system. The finished pack will be available to distribute in either ‘hard copy’ format, or via a web browser using Eclipse’s FileView online case tracking system. Taking this a step forward, Proclaim’s enhanced connectivity functionalities will enable firms to exchange HIP information electronically with estate agents, referrers, etc to streamline the process yet further.

In addition, for firms wishing to utilise third-party HIP providers, Eclipse is in talks with a number of leading organisations to build true integration with its Proclaim system. In particular, an agreement is nearing completion with a major provider of search and HIP services which will see firms using Proclaim able to simply ‘click through’ their HIP requirements directly from the case management software, to build a complete – or modular – electronic pack.

Work has now been completed which enables Proclaim to produce the bar-coded Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns (SDLT) that can be submitted to the Inland Revenue. In addition, final touches are being put to the e-submission system which will enable 100% electronic submission of the SDLT forms directly from Proclaim.
