Case Management software specialist, Eclipse Legal Systems, has reported a record turnover figure for its 2008/9 trading year.

The firm?s previous best result came in 2007/8, when it published a turnover of £5 million. The financial year 2008/9, which ended on 30th June, saw Eclipse announce a turnover increase of 10% to a record high of £5.5 million. Profit levels remained constant and in line with previous years.

Highlights from the 08/09 period include:

– A total of 84 new client wins across all sectors (not including existing client upgrades)

– Key strategic wins including DLA Piper, Hill Dickinson, Moore Blatch Resolve, Lees Solicitors, and an as-yet unannounced Local Authority organisation

– Around 1,500 new Proclaim end-user licence sales, bringing the overall user figure to over 10,000

– Investment in expanded premises which provide headroom for a planned 200 staff (Eclipse currently employs 90 personnel)

Eclipse’s Sales Director, Russell Thomson, comments on the firm’s performance:

“It goes without saying that it’s been a tough trading year in a number of market sectors, not least the property / conveyancing area. We are delighted that we have been able to use the broad scope of our Proclaim product to ride out the downturn and enjoy success in those sectors that have bucked the downward trend.

Personal injury, debt recovery, and financial misselling have all rocketed in 08/09, and we have been able to capitalise on the unprecedented demand in these case management areas. Our order book for 09/10 is looking enviably healthy, and we predict another record year to come.”
